Compensation: $65,000-$80,000

Client Overview:
Vernovis is partnering with an established and growing manufacturer in northern Cincinnati. This client is looking to bring in a new plant accountant as their current one will be retiring later this year. This organization offers professional development, promotes from within, and this role is on the career path to a controller seat.
What You'll Do:
- Completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing procedures, including preparing estimates and accruals.
- Maintain accurate and thorough preparation, and reconciliation of general ledger accounts and financial reports such as balance sheets, profit-loss statements, and capital expenditure reports.
- Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to forecast future revenues and expenses.
- Review, evaluate, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting and procedural standards.
- Ensure compliance with SOX controls.
- Continuous improvement of Excel skills to create reporting and improve efficiencies.
What You'll Have:
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting
- New/recent accounting grad OR: 1-3 years of accounting experience
- Heavy excel experience and desire to expand excel skills
- Ability to show understanding of an accounting or financial reporting process
- Experience with VLOOKUPs and PivotTables
What is Nice to Have:
- Excel XLOOKUPs and PowerQueries
