THE CHALLENGE
A financial services company with $11.65 B in assets under management needed help executing a complete Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) plan. Before enlisting Vernovis, they only had a partially complete BCP. With a small IT team, they didn’t have the time or expertise to manage building, testing, and finalizing these plans.
THE APPROACH
Vernovis provided a CISO who was “a great addition and helped create more of a team.” Vernovis’ consultant worked directly with the client’s cybersecurity risk committee comprised of key stakeholders and leaders from across the company.
In just two weeks, the CISO finalized the BCP and DR, then designed, presented, and facilitated testing and training for the entire cybersecurity risk committee, which included six real-life disaster scenarios. The testing involved simulations, tabletop drills, as well as a live WFH virtual desktop test with the entire team.
THE RESULT
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, they were able to successfully and securely transition all 60 employees to WFH overnight. Their team has been able to access all of their applications, virtual desktops, and collaborate securely.
“Because we were set up, we still have the time and bandwidth to do cybersecurity videos, training, phishing tests, and other proactive measures.”
