Job Title: IT Security Administrator
Location: Springboro, OH | Hybrid
Our client is seeking an IT Security Administrator to support and enhance cybersecurity operations for both government contracting and commercial environments. This role combines cybersecurity operations, Microsoft 365 administration, systems support, infrastructure administration, and investigative support for security incidents across cloud and on-premise environments.
This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys balancing cybersecurity, systems administration, networking, and infrastructure support within a collaborative and growth-oriented environment. The team is looking for someone with a solid technical foundation who is eager to continue growing within the organization long term.
What You'll Do:
- Support and maintain cybersecurity operations across Microsoft-focused cloud and infrastructure environments
- Assist with implementation, support, and ongoing maintenance of NIST/CMMC compliance initiatives
- Monitor, investigate, and respond to cybersecurity alerts, vulnerabilities, and potential security incidents
- Support Microsoft 365 environments including Entra ID, Azure, VPN connectivity, and endpoint administration
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot firewalls, wireless networks, switches, and related infrastructure
- Install, support, and maintain cloud-based and on-premise systems, applications, and networks
- Provide remote and onsite technical support, troubleshooting, incident response, and problem management for end users
- Assist with systems administration, patching, updates, and endpoint support across desktops, laptops, and servers
- Support SIEM and security monitoring tools including Microsoft Sentinel or similar platforms
- Troubleshoot software, hardware, networking, access, and infrastructure-related issues
- Maintain technical documentation, procedures, reports, and knowledgebase articles
- Support implementation projects through deployment and operational handoff
- Participate in on-call rotation and occasional after-hours support as needed
Required Qualifications:
- 2–5 years of experience in cybersecurity, systems administration, infrastructure support, network administration, or related IT environments
- Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments
- Experience with Entra ID and Azure administration
- Experience troubleshooting networking and VPN connectivity issues
- Experience supporting Windows 10/11 environments
- Strong troubleshooting skills across systems, infrastructure, and networking environments
- Experience supporting cloud and on-premise infrastructure
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently within a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to continue learning and growing technically
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, or other SIEM technologies
- Experience supporting firewalls, switches, wireless networking, and endpoint security
- Exposure to NIST and/or CMMC compliance frameworks
- Experience with RMM tools or managed services environments
- Experience supporting Apple/Mac environments
- Microsoft, CompTIA Security+, Network+, or related certifications
- Experience within government contracting or regulated environments
