Vernovis is looking for a Product Manager that will own their respective value stream. This individual will be the single source of accountability to the business when it comes to the development of new or updated functionality within their product domain / value stream. You will facilitate the interface with the various stakeholders and users of each product, while understanding the true problem statement each have in relation to the software product. You’ll use that knowledge to elaborate and prioritize stories with the development team that will be added to the sprint backlog for delivery.
What You'll Do:
- Being the gatekeeper of the product domain to ensure any work taken on aligns with the company goals and will drive ROI and have a positive effect on EBITDA.
- Become the subject matter expert on each application within assigned domain. This includes understanding current functionality of the application and the job/ tasks performed by the users. PM needs to know how to perform core functions and be able to understand problems when presented by stakeholders.
- Build and maintain an up-to-date product backlog by having regular backlog refinement sessions and decomposing understood problem statements into deliverable user stories.
- With the help of a designer or design tools, visually represent stakeholder approved UIUX related acceptance criteria that will be completed by the development team.
- Run all ceremonies required for a scrum team, including Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Daily Stand Up, Sprint Review and Retrospective.
- Collecting and Analyzing application analytics to be used to drive discussions for future development and application engagement.
- Ability to negotiate competing priorities ensuring the business needs are met and the highest-level ROI is achieved.
What You'll Have:
- 2+ year’s work experience, ideally in a variety of roles
- Customer service mindset – Our clients’ technology is there to serve their internal customers (Employees) and external customers in their care. Someone with a “Servant Leadership” mindset is critical to the success of any product leader.
- Understanding of business domain – A desire to not only understand but to develop a high-level of expertise in your assigned domain. Achieving the status of Subject Matter Expert is the goal.
- Teamwork focused – Enjoying the opportunity to work collaboratively across a variety of domains internal and external to the product team.
- Self-starter/ high drive and initiative – Being able to see and user stand a problem and then owning it through resolution. Proactively seek out user needs and ways software can add value and ROI.
- Growth Mindset – Never settles for the status quo. Always in pursuit of expanding your knowledge around all areas of the business.
- PSPO or CSPO Certification – Successful completion of the Scrum.org or Scrum Alliance product owner certification
- 4-year degree in Business, Communications, Psychology, Computer Science or equivalent. Exceptions will be considered for those with domain work experience.
